St. Carlo Acutis -- New Saint Who Loved Dogs

"To Always Be Close to Jesus, That's My Plan,"  St. Carlo Acutis

Isn't it beautiful to learn about the saints? Their love for Jesus shines brightly, especially their willingness to embrace the cross sets them apart. On September 7, 2025 Carlo Acutis was canonized.  Such a beautiful story...

Complete Devotion to God

Carlo Acutis, grew up in Italy, and died of leukemia in 2006 at age 15. Those who knew Carlo saw a profound grace in his complete devotion to God from his earliest years.  He spoke often of our home in heaven as our only purpose and revealed his heart was close to Jesus' heart in his desire to seek out those who were alienated, lost, suffering in body or spirit. As a young boy, when he saw a homeless person, he would greet them and return with a sandwich or sleeping bag, whatever they needed.

Comforted the Alienated and Bullied

“All of us are born as originals, but many of us die as photocopies.” His felt deep compassion for his teenage friends suffering from bullying, broken families and the trials of youth. He sought out those souls to comfort and counsel them. He encouraged them to trust God who loves them for who they are, each a beautiful "original work" of the Father.

Eucharistic Miracles Database

At an early age he gave his heart to the Immaculate Heart and never missed his daily rosary. He begged his mother who was not Catholic to take him to daily Mass and Adoration and asked to receive his first Holy Communion early, at age 7. Yet, his profound impact was through his devotion to the real presence of Jesus in the Eucharist. As a teenager he taught himself computer programming skills to build a website that would showcase Eucharistic miracles. Link is HERE

Loved Soccer, Sports, His Dogs, Videogames

Yet, Carlo was a typical boy who loved to play soccer, play with friends and take his dogs on walks.  He also loved video games, but saw their danger and permitted himself only 1 hour per week. By the grace of God he knew the vast reach of the internet and taught himself computer programming so he could ultimately share the radical truth of Eucharistic miracles with the world.

Thank you Heavenly Father for Carlo Acutis.   St. Carlo, pray that we too follow the promptings of the Holy Spirit to do all we can to spread the Truth and fall deeper in love with Jesus!
